Alleged iPhone 6 Case Mold Surfaces

Alleged iPhone 6 Case Mold SurfacesThe past couple of weeks have been a flurry of leaks and rumors about Apple’s next-gen iPhone, although they have somewhat slowed down since. Now thanks to a new photo, more “evidence” has surfaced of Apple’s design for the iPhone 6. As you can see in the image above, it shows off a metal slab that has been molded and shaped to the alleged dimensions of the iPhone 6.

It has been speculated that this mold is being used by case manufacturers to help them create cases and accessories for the iPhone 6. This is not surprising as many accessory manufacturers have been doing this for a while. The idea is to get cases made before the phone is announced, thus beating other manufacturers to the punch once the phone has been released. Sometimes it’s a gamble and we have no way of knowing if this truly is the design Apple will be going for.

However this particular design seems to be in line with what we’ve seen so far. This includes the rounded edges of the phone, which resembles the iPad Air and iPad mini’s design, also the volume buttons appear to be of the pill-shaped variety, as opposed to being circular like the iPhone 5s. Once again it seems that the flash unit on this mold seems to suggest a single flash, versus the iPhone 5s’ “True Tone” flash.

It’s also a bit hard to tell how big the mold is, but Apple is rumored to launch an iPhone with a display of 4.7-inches, and possibly another model with a 5.5-inch display. Once again we can’t be sure of how true those rumors are, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
