Earlier this year, HTC announced the HTC One M8, which was essentially a successor to last year’s HTC One. Then we caught wind that HTC could be working on a HTC M8 Ace, a phone which would share the HTC One M8’s specs, or at least most of it, with the main difference being that it comes in a plastic body, versus the metal build of the One M8.
This is done in order to make the handset cheaper, while allowing it to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S5 at a cheaper price. Now thanks to new images spotted on TENAA (via @evleaks), we have new photos of the HTC M8 Ace to look at. The photos don’t really do the phone justice, but it clearly shows off a very different design from the One M8, that’s for sure.
The back image of the phone also seems to confirm that the M8 Ace will not be packing the Duo Camera feature of the One M8, or its dual-tone LED flash, but for those who aren’t that fussed, then we guess this is a non-issue for you guys. The speaker grills on the M8 Ace also appears to be more pronounced, which is admittedly not a very attractive feature, but perhaps it could mean louder/better sound.
In any case we expect that we will learn more once the phone has been announced. As it stands the rumors claim that the HTC M8 Ace’s release date has been pegged for the 3rd of June, so we guess we only have a couple of weeks of waiting before we learn more about the handset, so do check back with us then for the details.
