Remember the HP Compaq 8 tablet, which was launched in China last year, well, HP has now introduced it as HP 8 1401 in the United States. The specifications of both the tablets remain same and HP 8 is now available on the company’s webstore for $169.99.
HP 8 features a 7.85-inch 1024x768p IPS display, Android 4.2.2, quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. The tablet also packs Wi-Fi support, Miracast compatibility, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera and 3800 mAh battery.
According to HP, it has also pre-loaded a bunch of apps on the tablet like Kingsoft Office, HP Connected Photo (powered by Snapfish), Box (with free 25GB lifetime cloud storage), and HP ePrint.
The tablet will be competing with the likes of Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD, and other affordable tablets available in the US right now.
HP 8 joins the company’s growing Android tablet portfolio, which currently includes HP Slate 7, Slate 10, Slate 7 HD, and Slate 8 Pro.
