I've got some personal news to share that I'm particularly excited about: at my alma mater Binghamton University's Fall Commencement, I'll be returning this weekend to give a talk in front of about 2,500 expected attendees.

I wasn't sure how I was put on the short list and then selected, but Binghamton's press office put out a pretty kind announcement:

Berkowitz, chief marketing officer at digital marketing agency MRY, founded the Hinman Alumni Network, has chaired the Metro NY Alumni Network and is the youngest director ever elected to the Binghamton University Alumni Association Board of Directors.

An expert digital marketer and blogger, he is a sought-after speaker and is frequently quoted online and in print in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the New York Post and other high-profile publications. He has been featured by Google as one of four “Mobile Champs” and he helped digital agency 360i win the iMedia Agency Award for Best Social Media Agency in 2012.

Berkowitz was recognized as Student of the Year at Binghamton in 2000, the year he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and spoke at the Hinman College graduation ceremony.

If you're around (or snowed in) Sunday with nothing else to do, the speech will be livestreamed starting around 12 EST (I'm not sure when exactly I go on). I won't give too much away, but a lot of readers of the blog will appreciate the themes, including crowdsourcing, entrepreneurship, and the Maker Movement... plus some inspiration from my professor Jack Weinstein, of blessed memory.

I'll likely be able to post video and definitely text of the speech sometime after, so stay tuned if you're curious to see it. Thanks so much to my alma mater for bringing me back for such an occasion.
