This is a video of one of Vat19's 5-pound Gummi Bears producing a fireworks extravaganza in hot potassium chlorate. I remember my high school chemistry teacher was going to perform this same experiment. The only problem is he was going to use Watermelon Sour Patch Kids, and I wasn't about to let that happen. I tackled him, wrestled the bag of candy from his hand, and made him swear he wouldn't try to repeat the experiment for the next class. I got suspended for six days, but I did manage to finish the whole bag while waiting to see the principle. Keep going for the fireworks.
