HTC Postpones Launch Of Their Wearable Device

htc logo2With so many companies hopping on board the bandwagon, it was only assumed that companies such as HTC would want to get in on the fun as well. In fact there were rumors that HTC could be working on a wearable of their own that could be launching in the near future.

Well the bad news is that if you were looking forward to the device being announced at HTC’s 8th of October event, you will be disappointed to learn that it will not be happening. This is according to HTC Americas head Jason Mackenzie who spoke to the folks at Re/code where he not only confirmed that HTC had a wearable device in the works, but that it will be delayed.

According to Mackenzie, “We had originally planned to have a wearable launch in this time frame. It ended up just not being ready.” However if you were hoping that maybe we could see it by the end of 2014, you might be disappointed once again as it seems that HTC could be targeting a 2015 release.

This is according to Drew Bamford who heads up the HTC Creative Labs team. According to Bamford, “We think the strategy we were working on will get us there, but we want to take our time and get it right. We honestly don’t think anyone has gotten it right.” Well with all this waiting, we certainly hope that HTC will be able to surprise us all come 2015.
