We all know the phrase “time is money”. We wish it weren’t true, but the fact remains that we spend most of our time trying to earn money to support ourselves for the time we’re not working. It’s a vicious cycle, and it makes perfect sense that we’re looking for ways to cut corners if we can. We weigh spending money on items that will help us get places faster with how much time it will save us getting to and from work.
If you have a walking commute that is almost far enough to contemplate driving, then you’ve likely looked into alternative methods of personal transport. If you don’t want to deal with something as large as a Segway, then maybe the Chic-Smart will fit the bill. This is a two-wheeled people mover that can go up to 6~ miles per hour. That’s double your walking speed, meaning you can get to and fro in half the time.
This can travel up to 12 miles on one charge, and can handle an incline up to 15 degrees. Finding the right combination of standing and leaning will take a little bit of getting used to. While you won’t necessarily need them at these non-break-neck speeds, there are lights to indicate when you’re backing up. It’s not the fastest or most efficient option out there, but it would get the job done. Of course, with any convenience item this is going to cost a pretty penny, so it would be safe to assume that this will be upwards of $500 when it hits the market.
