The Solar Hybrid Snowboard charges your phone while you’re boarding

Signal Hybrid Snowboard

We are quite addicted to our mobile devices. Checking the weather, social media, playing games, or just reading up anything and everything on the Internet is going to suck down our battery. More often than not, we have our phones hooked up to a backup battery, or plugged into a wall. Our phones come with us everywhere, because there’s literally an app for just about every situation you can think of.

Seeing that the colder months are on their way, snowboarding enthusiasts are likely starting to gear up to hit the slopes. Just like everyone else, they’re looking for ways to keep their phones on them and powered up. If you enjoy this particular winter sport, then you might be interested in a snowboard that will charge up your gear just from going down a slope. Of course, when I say gear, I mean your POV cameras, HUD goggles, and other USB accessories rather than just your phone.

The Signal Hybrid Snowboard has a solar panel embedded into the top, and will juice up your devices while you ride. The battery can hold 2,000 mAh of power, and can charge an iPhone to 100% within about three hours. It will take about 5 hours of direct sun to fully charge the battery, so you’ll need to make sure you’re out for a good amount of time. This is available in sizes 153, 156, 159, and 162, and will cost you around $750.

Available for purchase on Signal, found via inhabitat
