Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 5.0 update to arrive early-2015: Report

Samsung Galaxy S4Samsung Galaxy S4 is all set to receive its third major Android update in the form of Android 5.0 Lollipop early next year, reports SamMobile. According to the blog, the update will first be released for the Exynos-version of the phone, which retails in markets like India, followed by the Snapdragon-version.

There is no word on change-log but the video embedded below, showing a Galaxy S5 running on an early-build of Android 5.0, should give you some idea of what to expect on Galaxy S4.

Samsung Galaxy S5 successor codenamed “Project Zero”

In other Samsung news, the codename of the successor of Galaxy S5 smartphone has been revealed. According to SamMobile, Galaxy S6 (or whatever the final branding is) is being developed under codename “Project Zero.”

The blog adds that Samsung is developing the phone from scratch to create something unique that is not in line with the company’s previous flagships. With dwindling smartphones sales, Samsung really needs something that will bring back consumers to the company.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge to arrive in US on Nov 14

Lastly, Samsung has revealed that its Galaxy Note Edge smartphone will go on sale in US beginning November 14 on AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular carriers. It will cost a hefty $946 without contract on AT&T, other telecom operators are yet to announce the pricing.

To remind you, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge packs almost the same specs as Note 4 but sports a curved display that wraps around one side of the phone. The extra display real-estate can be used to show things like notifications, frequently used apps and more.
