Detailed leak of new HTC One’s dual cameras

While we have had many leaks of the new HTC One coming our way this month, we haven’t had any real details of the dual cameras on the back and what they are for. This new leak gives us the closest and clearest look of HTC’s dual-lens camera setup.

This is certainly one of the most intriguing parts of the new device. It features a smaller lens just above HTC’s standard lens and dual-LED flash, but unfortunately we still have no indication of its purpose. Some think it is for new 3D effects on pictures or video, others think that it will simply help the focus settings on the device. Other theories include helping low-light performance and to cleanly magnify distant subjects without using digital zoom.

Whether or not these particular benefits show up, it’s hard to dispute that a parallel-lens setup is indeed coming to HTC’s new flagship smartphone.
